Conflict CAT Card Game (Front)The Conflict CAT is a role-playing game for 2 to 8 players that helps kids learn how to work out conflicts peacefully. One person serves as the timer. Teams of two actors each draw cards from four piles: “Conflict” cards assign a conflict to the role-playing team; “Calm Down” cards prompt players to use one of four mindfulness practices; “Apologize” cards each give players a choice of saying “I’m sorry” in one of four languages; ” and “Tools” cards offer two possible solutions to the conflict. Players have 10 seconds to decide how they are going to solve the conflict and then they act it out. Once the conflict is resolved, the players switch roles and they play again. Once all the conflicts have been solved, players may make up their own and use the cards to role play how to solve them.
Conflict Scenarios: Two kids disagree about what to name the class pet. Two kids argue about what video game to play. Two kids argue about who gets to sit in the special classroom chair. Two kids disagree about whether basketball or football is the best sport.
